Project Title: Explorers Society Hotel
Project Type: Hotel / Restaurant / Event Space
Project Size: 13,500 ft²
Location: Revelstoke, BC.
The McKinnon Building was originally constructed in 1911. It existed as a transient residence for mining and railroad workers during the first park to the twentieth century. In the early 1990’s it was converted into the Nickelodeon Museum and closed its doors in 2014. This beautiful masonry and wood building is now being completely reborn with a major renovation to become the new Explorers Society Hotel. It will contain a 12-unit boutique hotel, restaurant, and event space. It has also been designed with additional third-story level lounge, roof deck and private hot tub with amazing 360 degree panoramic views of Mount Begbie, Revelstoke and Williamson. The interior design will carry a balanced mix of rustic mountain-lodge features with clean contemporary lines and materials.
